Why do some videos put us to sleep, while others captivate us for hours? Most educators agree that video is a powerful medium for student engagement. But in practice, its effectiveness in the classroom can be mixed. This workshop explores the latest research behind what makes an educational video effective, with practical tips for the classroom.

Many districts, schools, & teachers use disparate systems for digital curriculum mapping, lesson planning, and day-to-day instruction. Participants in this session will see the potential of impacting teaching and learning when leveraging connected tools through Unified Classroom's Curriculum & Instruction with Schoology &/or Google Classroom.

Do they know how to set themselves up for financial success now and in the future? At EVERFI we believe in preparing the whole student with the skills necessary to be confident in taking on both internal and external challenges. EVERFI provides educators with engaging, online learning resources in topics such as SEL, health & wellness, financial literacy, digital literacy/citizenship, STEM readiness, entrepreneurship, career readiness, and more.  Each course is standards-aligned and free of charge to schools. Participants will create their EVERFI accounts and learn how to integrate EVERFI's free, online courses to work in their classrooms to enhance current curriculum and student engagement.

Participants will discover teaching and learning with Nearpod while experiencing an interactive lesson. They will explore the Nearpod Library of lessons where they will find customizable activities, videos, and full lessons for students at every level. Participants will learn how to edit and launch lessons in Live or Student-Paced mode. They will learn how to monitor student learning during a lesson and respond to students' needs in real-time, as well as examine the information available in post-session reports.

Let’s engage in a hands-on STEM activity with PBS resources woven throughout it!
