Important Volunteer Information
Scheduling
If you haven’t yet done so, PLEASE look over the program and decide which time slots you would prefer to have free so that you can make it to sessions of your choosing. Unlike previous years, volunteers will not be scheduled in a session. This means that you will not be able to attend a session during times that you are scheduled to work. As always, your preferences are not guaranteed, but we will do our best to accommodate your selections. If you do not have any preference as to when you are scheduled, please, please, please, still complete the survey. We NEED to have a response from everyone and there are other questions that we need to have answered. Please complete this survey by January 31.
Sunday Meeting/Lodging & Check-in
We will hold the Volunteer Informational Meeting at the convention center on Sunday at 1:00 pm. Food/Beverages will be provided during the meeting. Our agenda at this point is to simply tour the convention center, review schedules, and go over the general rules and regulations for the Volunteer program.
We realize some volunteers taking the bus will be a little late (The early bus is scheduled to be in by 1:30 pm.) but we would still like to begin the meeting at 1:00.

Volunteers who are taking advantage of the housing provided by the Volunteer program can find their hotel list below.
Please note: The room number corresponds with an internal PETE&C list, not an actual hotel room. A majority of the volunteer rooms are at the William Penn Omni. The Staff at the Omni has agreed to hold our luggage if rooms are not ready prior to the start of our meeting, so we can go to the Omni first and then walk down to the meeting.
All attempts to group roommates together have been made. If you were not placed with a person that you requested, it may be because they requested a different volunteer or you may be checking out on different days. The rooming list is subject to change up until the day of the conference as changes to the volunteer team will inevitably occur.

Parking/Busing
Parking is on your own. Parking in Pittsburgh can be pricey and tough to come by. If you can possibly carpool or take the bus, do it!
You should have received an email about busing to Pittsburgh from around the state. The Omni does not have a parking lot, but there is a lot across the street (SEE INFO BELOW!!). That being said, you may want to look into riding the bus. If you are interested in riding the bus, you must take the earlier bus that will get you into town in time for our volunteer meeting on Sunday afternoon. (Our meeting will still begin at 1:00 pm.)
To register for the bus- log back into your registration and you will be able to select your bus and pay for your seat on the bus. Please note, if there is not enough interest in the bus, by the first week of February, they will cancel the bus. Please sign up soon if you are interested.
Parking Information (available from the WP Omni website)
What to pack
Our dress for the volunteers is casual, but please remember that you will be in a professional setting. Jeans or other pants are fine, no holes. If you choose to be dressier that's fine. You will be given a green button-down shirt to wear. Some volunteers prefer to wear it as their shirt, but most prefer to wear it over another shirt.
Leggings are acceptable if they are thick and a solid, dark color, and are at no time, ever transparent. You must also wear a shirt that covers appropriately, as the button-down shirt likely will not.
Winter jacket/hat/gloves will almost definitely be needed for your short walk every day to the conference. (The Omni is about 2 blocks away from the convention center. ) The volunteers have been assigned a room at the convention center to house all our stuff, however, it is not at the reg. desk as in previous years.
Wear comfortable shoes, you will be doing quite a bit of walking and standing. Sneakers are fine.
Sunday will be the most informal day of the conference as you will be traveling and touring the facilities.
Again - Comfortable shoes are a must!
